A city car that’s perfect for urban driving and short trips

The Kia Picanto is the perfect city car. It’s compact, it’s really easy to handle, and it’s cheap to run. Plus, while it may look small from the outside, there’s plenty of room on the inside for 4 passengers and your luggage.

While it excels as a city vehicle, the Kia Picanto can also get you out of town to explore Iceland. It’s best for shorter trips. So, if you’re looking to visit the Golden Circle, the Reykjanes peninsula, or Snæfellsnes from Reykjavík, this is an affordable and convenient choice.

Be aware, though, that you won’t be able to drive the Picanto on F-roads in the highlands. You will need a 4x4 to do that.

If you’re planning a longer road trip, we’d also recommend a larger vehicle, such as an estate car or a 4x4 SUV. These will be more comfortable—and they’ll handle much better if there’s snow on the ground.

What features does a Kia Picanto have?

The Kia Picanto is a 5-door petrol vehicle, with a manual transmission. You can expect the following features from your Kia Picanto:

There is space in the vehicle for 4 people, including the driver. As such, it’s one of the smallest vehicles in our fleet at Höldur.

Who can hire a Kia Picanto?

Kia Picanto is best for solo travellers, couples, or small families who need a car for shorter journeys. We’d recommend upgrading your vehicle if you’re going to be driving longer distances.

You need to be 20 years old or above to rent a Kia Picanto. That’s the minimum age for any vehicle rental from Höldur. To rent a vehicle, you will also need to have:

• A valid driving licence. You need to have had it for at least one year.
• A passport
• A credit card. This needs to be valid for at least the period of rental.

We also recommend that you book your rental vehicle in advance. Like many of our vehicles, the Kia Picanto is very popular, and it can be out of stock.
