To experience this variety to the fullest, a 4x4 campervan is your ultimate travel companion. Equipped with four-wheel drive, these vehicles can tackle the unpaved roads that crisscross Iceland's interior, while providing the self-contained comfort of a mobile home.

Unlike standard motorhomes, a 4x4 vehicle grants you safe access to the highlands. Driving a regular vehicle on the unpaved mountain tracks (F-roads) is not only illegal but dangerous, often meaning visitors miss out on Icelandic jewels like Askja, Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk. With a 4x4 campervan, however, you have the freedom to follow the spirit of adventure wherever it leads.

You won’t have to sacrifice comfort, either. The modern Toyota Hilux camper comes fully equipped with kitchen facilities and sleeping quarters for two to four people (two adults and two children). This self-contained accommodation guarantees a cozy retreat at the end of every day, allowing you to wake up with stunning landscapes right on your doorstep.

What’s included in a Toyota Hilux Camper?

Without the right equipment, a campervan isn’t very useful at all. That’s why at Höldur, we ensure that all of our 4x4 campers come with everything you need to have the best trip possible.

Alongside space for sleeping and eating, you can expect the following:

• Cooking and dining essentials. This includes pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, and everything else you need to cook.
  
  
• An electrical system. The camper boasts a dedicated 12V electrical system, separate from the car's power source, that provides power for the camper’s lighting and refrigeration.
  
  
• Heating. The vehicle’s Webasto® diesel-operated air heater ensures you stay warm at a temperature that’s right for you.
  
  
• Camping features. The camper’s push-button airlift makes setting up camp a breeze.
