- Make sure you’re at the right rental. Some people accidentally book their vehicle from Reykjavík Domestic Airport (RKV), rather than Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Double-check before you pick up your vehicle.

What documents do I need to present at the counter when I pick up my car?
When you come to pick up your vehicle, you will need:
- Your passport.
- Your driving licence. You should have had it for at least one year. It will be requested at every rental. Note that your International Driving Licence is valid only if accompanied by your normal licence. (For licence holders from the UK, where the driving licence is issued in two parts, both parts of the licence need to be presented).
- Your valid credit card with an expiry date after the due check-in date or a valid Europcar charge card. If you use a Europcar prepaid voucher as means of payment (with a specified value or the mention 'Group & Days apply'), you must also present a credit card for those charges which have not been prepaid (such as extras, refuelling charge, excess due in the event of damage to or loss of the rented vehicle).
What payment methods are accepted by Europcar (Höldur Car Rental) in Iceland?
We accept major credit cards, including American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard, and Visa. Credit cards are accepted to the limits authorised by the credit card company. Debit cards are not accepted at the time of reservation or rental.
Europcar charge cards and Full Credit vouchers are accepted. Europcar prepaid vouchers are accepted as means of payment of the rental charges, but they must be accompanied by a credit card for the charges which have not been prepaid (such as refuelling charges or excess).
Do I need to check the condition of the vehicle prior to leaving the location?
Yes, you must check the condition of the vehicle prior to leaving, alongside the car rental operator. Any existing damage will be recorded on your vehicle rental agreement.
May I use my credit card coverage for the rental?
Yes, you can use your credit card for your rental. We don’t accept debit cards.
Can I return the vehicle outside the location opening hours?
